The Federal Worker Emergency Loan Program provides financial assistance to former federal workers who were terminated from federal employment on or after January 1, 2025. The program provides impacted federal workers with an emergency loan.
To be eligible, workers must have been terminated from the federal government and be experiencing financial hardship. Eligible individuals will receive an interest-free loan in the amount of $700. Loans are due 180 calendar days after the date the loan is signed. Applicants must repay the loan within 180 calendar days. If an applicant is unable to repay the loan within 180 days, they may apply for a 90-day repayment
